Flash Programming is here for GM applications. Using the GM factory SPS calibration data the BDM can re-program Engine Control Modules and Powertrain Control Modules with those OE calibrations designed to fix emission, fuel economy and drive ability problems after the car is sold. The BDM can program both on the car and what is known as off-board with the ECM removed from the vehicle. Contact your Standard/Blue Streak sales representative for more information on ordering.

Chassis cartridge version 2.0, now includes Ford ABS and traction control diagnostics in addition to complete GM GM coverage of ABS, traction ride and steering controls systems. Chrysler ABS coverage will be added in the future. Purchasers of BXBD33001 version 1.0 and higher can exchange for the Chrysler update when available.

In cooperation with Automotive Electronics Services we now offer the powerful AES Wave software for use with the BDM Pro scantool, scope and multimeter functions. New Chrysler CCD cable that replaces original part # BCCY30811 is now available. This re-designed cable corrects an intermittent communication problem with 1994/95 Chrysler LH model cars. Replacements will be sent out by March 10, 2000 to all customers that have returned warranty cards. New Reprogramming Service - Sometimes not all driveability problems can be solved by changing a defective part. Many times a software update is all that is needed. In addition, to our present GM Reprogramming service, Blue Streak Electronics is also reprogramming for Ford and Chrysler applications. This means that any software updates can now be uploaded on your controller without towing the vehicle to the dealership. Simply ship the unit to us and we'll return it within 24 hours with the latest software installed.

This service applies to the following applications;

  • All 1996 and newer Ford EEC V engine controllers
  • Some selected 1994 to 1995 Ford engine controllers. (Also EEC V type units)
  • All EATX2 and newer Chrysler transmission controllers.
  • All 1996 and newer Chrysler SBEC 3 and JTEC engine controllers.
  • Some selected 95 Chrysler engine controllers. (Also SBEC 3 units)

This service is presently available through our Canadian facility and will be in the US early next year. For information on this service contact your Standard Motor Products distributor.

ABS Cartridge Release - We are working and testing our ABS cartridge now and have targeted April 1, 2000 for release. Pricing will be available early in the New Year. Our initial release will have limited legacy coverage for some domestic model cars, however, due to our flash programmable software cartridges, all purchasers will receive this older data as we release it throughout 2000 at no additional cost.
